California passed a far-reaching privacy law that takes effect on January 1, 2020.  Despite the word "consumer" in its title, the law as currently written can cover a company's interactions with California-located employees of other businesses.  For example, when a Missouri company collects email and other contact information for AP personnel who work in the California office of a third-party supplier.  This session will provide a primer on the new law and the status of proposed amendments making their way through the California legislature.
