“Implications of Faster Payments”

This session will explore the move to “faster payments” in the United States. The presenter will provide an overview of the work of the Federal Reserve’s Faster Payments Task Force, which has “called upon all stakeholders to seize this historic opportunity to realize the vision for a payment system in the United States that is faster, ubiquitous, broadly inclusive, highly secure, and efficient, with all service providers enabling ubiquitous receipt for end–user customers by 2020.”

The session will review the work underway in support of that vision, and will also highlight industry initiatives in faster payments, such as Zelle and The Clearing House’s Real-Time Payments.
